Each neighborhood is typically assigned to a specific public school based on residential addresses. This means your local school is often determined by where you live. House prices are usually high in areas with good schools. So, if you have young kids, it's important to choose your home keeping this in mind. It’s essential to check with local school boards to understand which schools are in your area and any specific registration requirements.

School Rankings

Rankings can vary and are often based on standardized test scores, graduation rates, and overall academic performance. Frasier institute website will provide a school ranking list. Rankings don’t provide information on school culture, extracurricular activities, etc. It's important to research the schools and connect with the local community before deciding where to live.

Education Grants

Education Grants and Loans like OSAP provide financial assistance for students, including grants, loans, and scholarships, to support post-secondary education. Popular scholarships include the Loran Scholarship, TD Scholarship, Terry Fox Scholarship, Lester B. Scholarship (international students only). MyBlueprint

MyBlueprint is a crucial platform that is used for over 1 million Ontario school students. Here you can take tests that teach you about career compatibility, your personality, the post-secondary options, pricing and prerequisites, as well as where students will choose their high school courses (minimum of 30 credits, 40 volunteer hours and Ontario Literacy Test completed will be required to graduate with an OSSD)

Grades

Education is overseen by provincial and territorial governments, which means curricula, school structures, and policies can differ across the country.

DECA

DECA is one of the biggest clubs/competitions in North America. It prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in business, marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. Through competitive events, leadership development, and real-world case studies, DECA helps students gain practical business skills. Students develop these problem-solving, communication, and teamwork, through regional, provincial and international competition opportunities.
